- Find the de Broglie wavelength of an electron with a kinetic energy of 100 eV.
- List different methods of detecting ultrasonic waves.
- The disintegration constant λ of a radioactive element is 0.00231 per day. Calculate its half- life and average life.
- What are radio isotopes? Give some examples.
- What are transducers? Give the different types of transducers.

- Derive Poiseuille’s formula for the rate of flow of a liquid through a capillary tube.
- Obtain an expression for the resolving power of a microscope.

(b) Calculate the fundamental frequency of vibration of a quartz crystal of
thickness 5mm if the velocity of longitudinal waves through it is 5760m/s
- Derive an expression to calculate the half life and mean life period an radioactive element.
