About Serchhip District :
Serchhip is the smallest district in the Mizoram state and the district was formed on 15th September, 1998. The Tropic of Cancer passed through the District and is located in the central of the state of Mizoram. Serchhip is adjoined by Champhai District in the East, Aizawl in the North and North West and Lunglei District in the South. The District is divided into 3 Sub-Divisions viz. Serchhip Sadar, North Vanlaiphai and Thenzawl. There are 2 Rural Development Blocks such as Serchhip and East Lungdar RD Blocks. Altogether there are 42 Villages within the District. As per the Census 2011, the total population of the district is 64,875 out of which 32,824 are males and 32,051 are females. In the district, Thenzawl is the second biggest town after Serchhip. It is one of the few flat area with beautiful grassy landscape. Nearby Thenzawl is a spectacular waterfall called Vantawng Khawhthla. This beautiful stepped fall is easily accessible by road, and it is a place where one can hear the calling of nature silently
