Architecture Engineering

Do you have any idea that The Taipei Tower in Taiwan is 101 stories with a height of 1667 feet. This tall tower stands amidst withstanding the natural disasters prone to typhoons and earthquakes. The obvious question arises how to build so tall and above all making it safe? In the center of the tower on the 88th floor theirs is the steel mass of a weight of about a million pounds that helps to absorb the energy from the building helping to stabilize it in case of tremor in the earth’s surface or strong winds blowing across. This is just an example where architectural engineers play its part to confront the challenges and establish a fleet that speaks of its architecture engineering genius.

This branch of engineering stream applies the engineering principals and concepts in construction, the planning and designing of buildings and also other structure. For an architecture engines the focus engulfs several areas including the structural integrity of the buildings, designing and also providing the analysis for ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, effective deployment of the fire system, electrical system and the plumbing issues and the conservation of energy is also an important role of an architectural engineer.

This makes architectural engineers a perfect calling for people with solid math and science aptitudes who are keen in buildings in particular. They should be a team player working with other engineers, designers, architects etc. Moreover, they have to be a good communicator both written and orally as they have to interact with various professionals outside their field.

Do they serve the same purpose the Architects and the Architectural Engineers?

Generally, architects plan the look or feel of a building and outline a building that meets the needs of a customer. Architectural engineers are in charge of taking the outline and adding to the points of interest of the building frameworks, including structural, warming/aerating and cooling, pipes, fire assurance, and electrical. They utilize their mastery as a part of engineering, science, also physical science to verify the structure is up and working.

This engineering stream job prospects are bright and shining

The pass outs of this stream are mostly recruited by the construction industry or any other related areas. You can also work with various non-government organization or other firms. There is more or less witness they tend to opt for self employed with their own experience base. A skilled architect, to function as an advisor or to set up private practice, ought to enroll with the committee of architecture before starting their profession. A council have been established of architecture constituted by the administration of India is accused of the obligation to control the training and practice of the profession all through India other than keeping up the register of architects. An individual architect or architectural practices can select to represent considerable authority in any field such as a hospital or a housing or educational service. A professional can also choose a teaching job in various universities and colleges.

Engineers recruited as trainees can expect a salary of Rs.10,000- Rs.12,000 per month and within a short period of time the salary can go up to Rs.15,000- Rs.20,000. But if you work as a consultant you can earn a lot with a charge of usually 4%- 10% on the total cost of construction that amounts to thousands to lakhs.

Open Letter to HRD Minister regarding outcry of people of India living in rural/tribal areas and filling JEE Main 2015 application form online

Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani                                                                                                 24th November 2014

Minister of Human Resource Development

Hon’ble and respected Madam,

This letter is regarding the outcry of people of India filling up JEE Main 2015 Online Application form. JEE Main examination is conducted by CBSE and is the engineering entrance exam for admission into NITs, IIITs, Centrally Funded Institutions and other Universities and Institutions. Apart from this JEE Main 2015 is also qualifying test for appearing JEE Advanced entrance exam which again test for admission into IITs in India.

Many states have adopted JEE Main 2015 as their state level engineering entrance exam replacing their own engineering tests to take admission into all State level,  Govt and private engineering colleges.

The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) – 2015 application form online. (ref.  www.jeemain.nic.in home page)

JEE Main 2015 forms are made available only online mode meaning a student wants to appear for the test (whether Paper 1 or 2) shall have to fill the online application form irrespective of his residential place. People from faraway places from cities and towns need to travel to areas having browsing centres connected with good internet connection. Some people may have to travel upto 200 kilometers to fill a proper online application form. In city areas also those do not have computers at home need to take help of browsing centres to fill up the online application form. This looks like the online application process have not considered the geographic location of the candidates across the country.

Browsing centre personnel in most cases fill the form on behalf of the candidates and do mistakes due to lack of information or candidate’s ignorance. At the end, the application form is filled up either with wrong data or faulty data resulting in lots of future problems/rejection for the candidates. In some cases the online application form can be rectified except few items which are once submitted can never be rectified. In some cases they do not get acknowledgement receipt after submitting the application and it is a big problem for them to go here and there and call many people including JEE Main Helpline.

Another condition is there “Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form. More than one application i.e Multiple applications from a candidate will be rejected.” (page 2 of information bulletin point no.6)

In India usage of Internet has improved in City area and yet to reach village and remote areas. There are many backward areas where students await for writing this career oriented exam, however many of them are dropped in the middle of their application process.

Again, help centres / facilitation centres put by JEE Main authorities are 1 to 5 in a particular state attached to a particular school. For a State like Karnataka only two cities have online facilitation centre. In Jammu and Kashmir only Jammu and Srinagar have one facilitation centre each. In Punjab 5 centres and in Odisha 6 cities have facilitation centre. There are places far away from these places where people have no means to fill up online application form and end up with debarred from writing the exam.

Since online application process, many of them do not take print of “Information Bulletin for JEE Main 2015” issued by JEE Main authority which contains most vital information and conditions regarding JEE main application form. Many of those conditions are technical issues relating to photographs, its size, signature, thumb impression scanning, etc.

If there could be a physical application form appended with Information bulletin candidates and their parents are bound to go through it before filling up the application form.

There are many instances where students and parents who did mistakes in their application form. Many have not received their Admit card during last year JEE Main examination. JEE Main authority must have data of number of people paid for the exam and number of students could not appear the test due to mistakes / cancellation of form.

We humbly request you to consider allowing students fill “physical application form” for JEE Main 2015 examination where students can fill their details and post with demand drafts so as to reach JEE main authority before a particular date.

Thank You.

Career in Medicine in India

Career choice is one of the most important decisions that an individual makes in his lifetime. Medicine is a very noble profession that allows an individual to help people in need. The work and contributions of a medical professional are important to individuals and the community as a whole. It enables them to earn a good living and provides for a consistent and secure future.

As per a recent report, there is a shortage of medical practitioners in India. In a country like India, with the ever increasing population, the skills and knowledge of a medical professional will always be in demand. Lifestyle disorders, bad eating habits and lack of physical activity and exercise has given rise to a number of new diseases. In cities speciality and super speciality hospitals have provided a number of lucrative employment offers to medical practitioners. Also in rural India, the government is providing better health care facilities and setting up new dispensaries and hospitals, thereby increasing employment opportunities.

Medicine can be divided into two categories:
1. Traditional, also known as alternative, Homoeopathic, or Holistic.
2. Modern, also known as Western, or Allopathic.

Qualifications required for becoming a Doctor:

Traditional – To become a Homeopathic or Ayurvedic Doctor, degree courses in Homeopathy and Ayurveda are offered both at bachelor and masters levels. A candidate having cleared 12thstandard in science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English/ Science or Sanskrit for Ayurveda can pursue the bachelor course i.e. B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery), which is five and half years long. Similarly, a B.A.M.S. degree (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) is offered for students wishing to pursue this line. One definitely has to sit through competitive exams and admission is based on merit.

Modern –To become an M.B.B.S. doctor, one must complete 12th standard with science stream with a minimum aggregate of 50% in physics, chemistry and biology and then compete in PMT exams. Upon selection and successful completion, an M.B.B.S. degree is conferred and one can practice medicine. It is common these days for students to go ahead for further studies and acquire an M.D. degree as it improves one’s future prospects.

Career options for medical professionals:
