KARNATAKA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

    Karnataka Public Service Commission had launched in the year 1951.Karnataka Public Service Commission had their headquarters in Bangalore. The Commission consists of a chairman and nine members. The commission office consists of full fledged hardware and software support. The exams conducted by them are;Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC)

  • Group A Examination
  • Group B Examination

Group A Examination

   The exam is being held for the candidates for the posts of Deputy Collector, Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deputy Registrar etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

  The candidate must be the citizen of India and he/she must  contain a degree from an approved University/Institution .The candidate must be fluent in the regional language.

Selection Procedure:

   The exams conducted by the commission are;

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Written Examination
  • Interview

Exam Pattern:

     The Preliminary Examination is an objective type .It consists of multiple choice questions. The total marks for the exam are 100 marks. The main examination consists of 8 papers with duration of two and half hours. The marks for these papers are 1200.The candidate who passed in the both exams are eligible for the interview process.

Group B Examination

      The exam is mainly held for the posts are Assistant Posts, Assistant Section Officer and Assistant Inspector of Local Funds.

Eligibility Criteria:

     The aspirant must be a degree holder from a authorized University/institution.

Selection Procedure:

    The candidate must attend three level of selection process

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Interview

Exam Pattern:

     The exam paper consists of multiple choice questions with the total mark of 100 marks. The written Examination is attended by the candidates who are eligible from the preliminary exam. The viva voce or the interview process are been done by a panel of members from the commission to recruit the eligible candidates.

Group C Examination

    The exam are mainly conducted for the posts of Typists, Junior Accountant, Auditor.

Eligibility Criteria:

    The candidate must be a degree holder from a renowned Institution/University. Based on the qualification the candidate should apply for the posts.

Selection Process:

    The selection process consists of two levels which are as follows;

  • Written Examination
  • Interview

Exam Pattern:

    The written Examination includes two papers with duration of 150 minutes. The candidate eligible from the exam are shortlisted for the next level of selection that is the interview process. The interview process is based on the marks secured and the selected candidates are allocated for the respective posts.

Group D Examination

   The examination is mainly conducted for the posts of Junior Stenographer, Accountant cum Typists.

Eligibility Criteria:

    The Aspirant must be a degree holder from a recognized Institution/University. He/she must be a well versed typist in their regional language.

Selection Procedure:

     The two levels of Examination are,

  • Viva Voice

Exam Pattern:

     The Written examination includes two papers with a time duration of 150 minutes. The shortlisted candidate are selected for the next level of test that is viva voice.

How to Apply

  • The Candidate must log into the official website of Karnataka Public Service Commission
  • A Candidate must log into the New Registration to get a Registration Id and password
  • The aspirant must have a scanned copy of recent image, signature for uploading into the application form
  • Using the Registration Id and password, the candidate can log on to fill the form
  • Fill all the mandatory details
  • After filling the application go through it to check whether there are any mistakes in the form, if their exists edit the application form
  • Later after the completion, mode of payment process is been done based on the applicant
  • Take the printout of the form for future reference.

 

Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Exams Information

ANDHRA PRADESH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

          Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission had started in the year 1st November 1956.Before this Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission was for Andhra State and Hyderabad Public Service Commission was for Hyderabad State. Later after the bifurcation it came into existence as Andhra public Service Commission. The commission consists of 9 members and a Chairman.

    Group II Services are mainly conducted for the posts of Junior Employment Officer, Excise Officers and Extension Officer.

Eligibility Criteria:

    The aspirant should be the citizen of India. The age limit should be between 18 to 36 years. The education qualification should be a degree based on the post and the degree must be from a recognized University/Institution.

Andhra Pradesh Group III Services

      Group III Services are mainly conducted for the posts of Senior Accountant,Senior Auditor,Assistant Auditor.

  The Candidate should be a citizen of India.The candidate should hold  a degree from a recognized University/Institution.

Andhra Pradesh Group IV Services

   The group IV Service exam is held for the posts of Typists and Junior Stenos

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate should have completed +2 from a recognized institution.
  • The aspirant must have “Certification of computer on Office Automation” given by the Technical Education Department
  • Aspirant must have passed the Government Technical Examination in typewriting and in shorthand in Higher/Senior Grade in their Regional Languages

Combined Competitive Exams

A panel of member from the commission interviews the candidate .The total marks are of 200

Departmental Exams

        The Exams are mainly held for the posts of higher officials in various departments like education, medical, health.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Aspirant must be the citizen of India
  • The Aspirant must hold a degree qualification based on their respective posts
  • The age limit for the higher Official will be referred on the notification of the job

Selection Procedure:

            The exam is announced twice in a year and the selection procedure is Written Examination and Viva Voce

Exam Pattern:

        The exam pattern consists of Reasoning, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude. The candidate who cores the merit marks will be shortlisted to the interview process. The selected Candidate will be under training and will be posted on their respective departments

 How to Apply

  • To fill the application form, the candidate must log onto apsc.nic.in
  • The candidate must fill the application form within 30 minutes. If they are not able to finish then they have to apply as a fresh candidate
  • Fill all the mandatory details
  • The candidate must contain the necessary scanned copy of photograph, signature to upload the details in the application
  • Candidate must check the details carefully before submitting the application.
  • Just take a look at the Preview, if any errors in the application, using Edit correct the mistakes
  • After final submission, take the printout of the application and a system generated challan also
  • Submit the challan details in the nearby SBI bank
  • Check out whether all details are correct
  • The bank provides a journal Number to the candidate
  • After this procedure, log onto the apsconline.gov.in to upload the journal number details
  • The System will provide a Journal entry Confirmation Details. The Candidate must take the printout of the details for future reference of the candidate.

National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA & NA) UPSC

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AND NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION

        National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The examination is for Army, Navy and Air Force Wings twice every year and this exam is conducted for unmarried male. The candidate joining this wing must undergo four years B.Tech course and would given an opportunity in joining Executive and Technical Subject for Navy Academy. The candidate opting National Defence Academy and Naval Academy must give his first preference of the option from Army, Naval and Air Wings.

Eligibility Criteria:

            Only male candidates can apply. Candidate should marry only if the training is completed. Paper-I    Mathematics

Algebra:

           Concept of set, operations on sets, Venn diagrams.  De Morgan laws.  Cartesian product, relation, equivalence relation. Representation of real numbers on a line.  Complex numbers – basic properties, modulus, argument and cube roots of unity.  Binary system of numbers.  Conversion of a number in decimal system to binary system and vice-versa.  Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions.  Quadratic equations with real coefficients.  Solution of linear inequations of two variables by graphs.  Permutation and Combination.  Binomial theorem and its application.  Logarithms and their applications. 

Matrices and Determinants: 

           Types of matrices, operations on matrices Determinant of a matrix, basic properties of determinant.  Adjoint and inverse of a square matrix, Applications – Solution of a system of linear equations in two or three unknowns by Cramer’s rule and by Matrix Method. 

Trigonometry: 

          Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians. Trigonometrical ratios. Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae.  Multiple and Sub-multiple angles.  Inverse trigonometric functions.  Applications – Height and distance, properties of triangles. 

Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions:

Differential Calculus: 

            Concept of a real valued function – domain, range and graph of a function.  Composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions.  Notion of limit, Standard limits – examples.  Continuity of functions – examples, algebraic operations on continuous functions.  Derivative of a function at a point, geometrical and physical interpreatation of a derivative – applications.  Derivatives of sum, product and quotient of functions, derivative of a function with respect of another function, derivative of a composite function.  Second order derivatives.  Increasing and decreasing functions.  Application of derivatives in problems of maxima and minima. 

Integral Calculus and Differential equations: 

          Integration as inverse of differentiation, integration by substitution and by parts, standard integrals involving algebraic expressions, trigonometric, exponential and hyperbolic functions.  Evaluation of definite integrals – determination of areas of plane regions bounded by curves – applications.  Vector Algebra:

          Vectors in two and three dimensions, magnitude and direction of a vector.  Unit and null vectors, addition of vectors, scalar multiplication of vector, scalar product or dot product of two-vectors.  Vector product and cross product of two vectors.  Applications-work done by a force and moment of a force, and in geometrical problems. 

Statistics and Probability:

        Statistics:  Classification of data, Frequency distribution, cumulative frequency distribution – examples Graphical representation – Histogram, Pie Chart, Frequency Polygon – examples.  Measures of Central tendency – mean, median and mode.  Variance and standard deviation – determination and comparison.  Correlation and regression. 

        Probability: Random experiment, outcomes and associated sample space, events, mutually exclusive and exhaustive events, impossible and certain events.  Union and Intersection of events.  Complementary, elementary and composite events.  Definition of probability – classical and statistical – examples.  Elementary theorems on probability – simple problems.  Conditional probability, Bayes’ theorem – simple problems.  Random variable as function on a sample space.  Binomial distribution, examples of random experiments giving rise to Binominal distribution.

Paper-II 

 General Ability Test

         The exam consists of two papers of objective type with 300 and 600 marks respectively with two and half hours time duration. There is negative marks for wrong answer. Eligible candidates are moved to interview process.

Combined Defence Service Examination Under UPSC

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAMINATION

Combined Defence Service Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Examination. The exam is conducted twice in every year. The exams are conducted for the office cadre of Army, Navy. The interview is conducted by the Service Selection Board. The Exams is conducted for the following departments,

  • Indian Military Academy, Dehradun
  • Naval Academy, Goa
  • Air Force Academy, Begumpet
  • Officer’s Training Academy, Chennai

              Except Officers training Academy, the others are alone for male candidates. The Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy are permanent Service Commission while the other is short Service Commission. The Officers training Academy is for both male and female candidates.

Syllabus:

 GENERAL KNOWLEDGE:

         General Knowledge including knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The Paper will also include questions on History of India and Geography of a nature which Candidate should be able to answer without special study.

The Main Examination consists of four papers of conventional type .The two law papers are compulsory papers. The each paper consists of 100 marks. The time duration for each paper is three hours. The written Examination will be of objective type and descriptive type.There are 6 papers and practical skill part. Each consist of 100 marks and the duration for each paper is one hour. The essay paper has two essays, one of English essay and an odia essay(within 350 words).There is no negative marking.
